In questo villaggio globale si parla congolese, ma anche arabo. Qui le tecnologie sono raffinate, i suoni levigati, ma si respira un’aura antica, il cui eco senti al tempo stesso lontano e vicinissimo, come se vi fosse qualcosa nel nostro Dna, che ci lega a terre che non abbiamo mai visto (…) il tutto come filtrato da una sensibilità occidentale, in cui, soprattutto negli arrangiamenti, affiorano echi jazz e pop, come a definire una speciale «koinè» musicale che aspira a essere uno dei linguaggi «forti» del prossimo millennio (Roberto Brunelli, L’Unità)

Si tratta dell’incontro in una terra di mezzo, ma non esattamente a metà strada tra la Lucania e il Congo, come l’origine dei due musicisti che animano il lavoro farebbe supporre. (…) Non è dunque musica etnica, perché non c’è volontà di recuperare forme stilistiche desuete. C’è la memoria delle proprie radici musicali, che è cosa ben diversa.
